Over five consecutive days in January 1978, P. Adams Sitney (*1944) - the apostle of New American Cinema and co-founder of New York’s Anthology Film Archives together with kindred spirits Jerome Hill, Peter Kubelka, Stan Brakhage and Jonas Mekas - held a series of lectures at the Film Museum under the collective title of "The Uniqueness of the Cinematic."
