On October 14, 2007, the Film Museum staged the first ever public screening of previously unreleased interview footage shot in Rome in 1975 by the French documentary filmmaker Claude Lanzmann (*1925) during preparations for his seminal work, Shoah (1985), with the exiled Viennese rabbi Benjamin Murmelstein (*1905; †1989).
