The Austrian Film Museum is an academic institution that participates in research projects in a number of ways. We provide researchers access to primary historical film sources (films, photographs, writings and posters) and support their efforts with archival and film historical know-how. The Film Museum also takes part in a variety of film, historical and cultural projects as a partner, conducting research in line with the main focus of its own collection and the fields of activity centered on the subject area of film. On the Long Night of Research, members of our team will show a selection of films and present recent projects together with colleagues from partner institutions, vividly illuminating the wide possibilities of research on film specific subjects.
