Christmas at the Film Museum
Wizard, Marx and Muppets

The Muppets Take Manhattan, 1984, Frank Oz
December 23 to 30, 2018

It's that time of year again: between Christmas and New Year, the Film Museum traditionally showcases Marx Brothers films. Recently, these have come to welcome a selection of kindred spirits as well as a Christmas visit from the Wizard of Oz. This year, we combine cine-Marxism with Muppet anarchy: featuring films from the workshop of their creator Jim Henson and his most important collaborator Frank Oz, who ended up going independent. From The Muppet Christmas Carol to the masterful trickery of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Steve Martin and Michael Caine: festive, festive!
