Peter Kubelka: Questions for Evolution

March 12, 2007

The timelessness of art? Film, television, the internet as facts of global change. The Cyclical Programme of the Film Museum today. A lecture with non-verbal examples.

Peter Kubelka returns to the Film Museum for one of his large-scale lectures. Kubelka is considered one of the founding figures of modern cinema. In addition to his film work, his manifold activities include the roles of teacher, curator, cultural historian and co-founder of the Austrian Film Museum.

All in all, he has been engaged in an ongoing education project involving the medium of film for more than 40 years. Scheduled immediately prior to the start of a new run of Kubelka's film cycle What is Film (Tuesday, March 13), this lecture presents his thoughts and views on contemporary media culture.
