2. Purpose and Scope of Data Processing
This website serves the scientific, curatorial, and educational presentation of the Austrian Film Museum's collection and
research content, particularly regarding the Michael Haneke Collection.
During your visit to our website, we collect personal data to the extent technically necessary (name of the file accessed,
date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user's
operating system, referrer URL, and the requesting provider). We cannot associate this data with specific individuals, nor
is it combined with data from other sources.
The data is stored only for as long as necessary for the purposes mentioned.
3. Cookies
We also wish to inform you that cookies are used when you visit our website. Cookies are small files or other forms of information
storage that are transmitted from our web server or third-party web servers to users' web browsers and stored there for later
retrieval. The cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive once you close your browser (session cookies). The collection
of this data is based on Section 96(3) of the German Telecommunications Act (TKG). In addition, we use cookies for statistical
analysis of the use of our website as part of the web analytics service Google Analytics (see below). The collection of this
data is based on Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
4. Embedded Third-Party Content / Social Plugins
This website uses social media plugins from facebook.com, instagram.com, vimeo.com, and youtube.com. These can be identified
by the corresponding logo.
When a user visits a page displaying such a logo, the browser automatically connects to the respective server of the social
media service. The server thereby receives various data and learns which specific page the user is visiting. Please note that
as the provider of this site, we have no influence over what data is transmitted to the respective platform. This data transmission
occurs regardless of whether the user clicks on the plugin.
If the user is logged into Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, or YouTube at the same time, the plugin can establish a direct connection
to the user’s account. If the user posts a comment on the website or “likes” it via the plugin, the plugin transmits this
information to Facebook and links it to the user’s account. To prevent this, the user must log out of their social media account
beforehand.
In addition to this information, the user should also review the privacy policies of Facebook, Instagram, Vimeo, and YouTube. Additionally, there is the option to install an add-on that blocks the social media plugin, thereby preventing data transfer.
5. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"), 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View,
CA 94043, USA.
As part of "Google Analytics," cookies are placed on your computer to statistically evaluate your use of our website. We have
entered into a corresponding contract with Google for commissioned data processing.
The information generated by these cookies regarding your use of this website (including your IP address) is anonymized before
being stored on Google servers, so that it can no longer be traced back to a specific computer. Only in exceptional cases
is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the U.S. and truncated there. Google uses this information to evaluate
your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for the website operators, and to provide other services related
to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other
Google data. For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
You can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookies and related to your use of the website, as well as the processing
of this anonymized data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. However, please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent.
