Dance: Film. Lecture with Film Examples by Peter Kubelka

Together with the Viennale and the Tanzquartier Wien, the Film Museum will present a lecture by Peter Kubelka on "Film and Dance" on October 27. The project takes the new choreography Adebar/Kubelka by Christine Gaigg and 2nd Nature (with music by Max Nagl) as its outset. The world premiere of Adebar/Kubelka will take place at the Tanzquartier Wien on October 23, with repeat performances through the 26th.  Based on diverse examples from film, which will be repeated on the 28th, Kubelka addresses the genesis, the nature and the close ties between the two forms of expression. In addition to films from the fields of biology and ethnology, the examples shown will be by Martin Arnold, Bruce Conner, Maya Deren, Peter Kubelka, Leni Riefenstahl, Dziga Vertov and others.
