After an elaborate planning and renovation phase, the Austrian Film Museum once again has a café: The Piccolina Filmbar combines the ambiance of Italian aperitivo bars with its location in downtown Vienna. In addition to specialty coffees and classic cornetti, the menu features a selection of drinks as well as light bites such as tramezzini, prosciutto, and parmigiano.
The operator is Manfred Stallmajer, who already runs the successful Brasserie at The Guesthouse hotel in the immediate vicinity. The project was made possible by Daniel Jelitzka and Reza Akhavan (JP Immobilien).
The Filmbar is designed as a publicly accessible meeting place – for visitors to the Film Museum as well as for local residents and guests of the city. With the opening in June 2026, the spacious outdoor seating area will also be available, offering additional space for relaxation and socializing before and after movie screenings.
