Author and director Ruth Beckermann is known for her engagement with history, which is always based on her close observation of contemporary realities. At the start of the season, Ruth Beckermann will be featured at the Film Museum with two works: Jenseits des Krieges (1996), as part of the retrospective on Austrian documentary film of the 1990s (in collaboration with Diagonale), and her latest film, WAX & GOLD (2026), in which history and the present merge as if under a burning lens.
