In December 2021, we devoted a major retrospective to VALIE EXPORT to celebrate the donation of her works on film to the Film Museum. The Albertina is now paying tribute to the feminist artist known for her media critiques with an exhibition focusing on performance, installation, and photography pieces and presenting legendary works alongside ones that have never before been shown (on view through October 1, 2023). We are pleased to show a selection of films by VALIE EXPORT in the "Invisible Cinema" alongside the exhibition, including two feature films in which EXPORT's interest in the structure and effects of moving images are just as present as in her multimedia performance and avant-garde films, which we will also be screening. With an entry ticket to VALIE EXPORT Retrospektive in der Albertina, you will receive 1 euro off your ticket to the Film Museum. With a Film Museum ticket, you can visit the exhibition in the Albertina for 16.90 euros (instead of 18.90 euros).
