On October 14, 2007, the Film Museum staged the first ever public screening of previously unreleased interview footage shot in Rome in 1975 by the French documentary filmmaker Claude Lanzmann (1925–2018) during preparations for his seminal work, Shoah (1985), with the exiled Viennese rabbi Benjamin Murmelstein (*1905; †1989).
