A permutational arrangement of nine short stories that merge into one another. The engine of the fusions and transformations is a magic mirror that transports what is reflected into other dimensions (and narratives). This is the fate of, among others, an increasingly confused seminarian of the 18th century, who is confronted with erotomaniac nymphs, robber brothers and treasure maps. In an intricate Moebius strip, Ruiz and his co-stars (including Melvil Poupaud, Christopher Lambert and Elsa Zylberstein) celebrate the absurdist humor of his cinematic universe, bridging four centuries as though in a dream.
