Animation

Age 6 to 9
Animation is just one of many forms of cinema, and yet it brings to the fore the essence of every film: the illusion of movement based on single still images. Whether drawn, painted, scratched, or collaged, whether there are humans, animals, objects, or abstract shapes, animated films transform everything into movement. This program will delve into this world of possibilities and highlight the endless varieties of storytelling and worldbuilding animation offers. (sh)

The short film program (30 min) will be accompanied by discussions of the films.
