Me, We

Me, We is the rare film about refugee movements towards Europe that turns its attention not to the refugees, but to those already living in Europa for a long time (in this case: Austria) and how they deal with the situation. Four episodes portray people who project their – benign or not – ideas about migration, refugees, or Islam onto people who have undertaken the difficult journey to Europe. For the most part, their personal motivations and backgrounds are only implied and remain hard to understand. A film about (the lack of) self-reflection and the resulting dynamics. (S.H.)

The screening (115 min) will be followed by a discussion with director David Clay Diaz.
